Morning :hello:

camelot We had our kitchen done a few years ago, we went back to bare brick and it had to be rendered and plastered. It was supposed to just be skimmed but as soon as we started chipping off the ugly, lumpy artex, everything just fell off the wall. They'd rendered over painted brick! It was a lovely shade of green, my dad said it looked like public toilets from the sixties :D The dust was a nightmare for ages, I remember every single detail. So this hasn't been too bad really. We need to get rid of the ugly artex in the lounge, but the memory of the kitchen walls means I keep putting it off, lol.

The shower tray is in and the plastering's done, just waiting for it to dry now.

I have the house to myself for a few hours :j The messiest jobs have been done so I'm going to put the rooms back in order – how does work on one room mean rearranging the whole house? lol. Our bedroom is the worst, though there's not a lot I can do about that til the bathroom is finished.

My hair is full of dust so I'm going to attempt to wash it in the kitchen sink. I'm too short to lean over without soaking myself in the process but if I kneel on a chair I'll be too tall and will probably soak the kitchen :D I'm going to damp dust the house again, tidying as I go. Then I'm going to sit and enjoy the peace for a while, before people start turning up at the house again.

My leg has improved a lot over the last couple of days, I'm wondering if something as simple as stepping into the bath to have a shower was affecting it?

• Willie Wonka has been to the vet and I was right to take him - he has a temperature which is a sign of infection although we can't find any obviously infected wounds on him. He's had a painkiller and antibiotic injection and is now hiding under my bed. Poor wee guy :( I've put the heating on for him and turned the bedroom radiator on too as he's sitting on a cold floor. I have put a bed in beside him but he hasn't climbed in for a snoogle yet.

I do wish I didn't have to leave him today but work I must. I'll be popping in and out though so can keep an eye on him.

Back to the vet on Tuesday (they're shut on Monday as it's September Weekend here) unless he's made a full recovery.

• Kitten kisses and gentle tummy rubs for poor William cat, may he sleep himself better and wake up from sardine dreams feeling much more the thing xxx.
• Thanks Mrs LW.

William seems to be feeling a bit brighter and has been allowed out to play for a wee while. I, meantime, have turned the heating off.

Got all my Avon books collected (although about half seem to have disappeared :( ) and have orders :) Books are back out and will be collected on Monday so I feel like I've achieved something.

Afternoon involves kittie cuddles (when Mr Wonka returns) and a good book.

• Hello all
Been MIA for a while, life has got in the way.

Firstly the computer monitor died, so we had to buy a new one

I found a lump last week and have been referred to the hospital, still waiting for the appointment to come though, but the GP said within 2 weeks.
I am surprisingly calm about it and have pushed it to the back of my mind, no use worrying about it

Spent all of last weekend at the zoo, because it was elephantastic weekend, fantastic really enjoyed it now the new scooter has arrived :D

It is our 28th wedding anniversary today so we are going out for dinner tonight.

We are just going over to Ashridge in a while for a bit of quiet time, we will take the small lodger with us, his little tail is wagging away because I said the W word.

So as you can see a bit of a hectic couple of weeks!
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

• Good afternoon everyone,

Its a beautiful autumn day today, lovely and sunny and quite warm. I have 2 loads of washing dried on the line.

TA hope the results of the scan are what you are hoping for. Good luck for next week.
notjustlaura, do hope your cat is better soon.
Gers car news sounds promising.
BB congratulations on your anniversay and have a lovely evening.

DH has taken the day off today :j so we got to have a lie in:D This morning popped to the bank to pay a cheque in, and then took DS to Maidstone to work and popped to Ald* for some shopping, so should be OK this week.

DD has a friend from Bromley down to stay the night. Her friend has passed her driving test and has driven down. They have gone off to Bluewater, so I do hope they got there alright. edit: they have just returned so that's good.

DH and I are enjoying the peace at home, I am making a loaf of bread and some biscuits. I bought a shop bought loaf last week and it lasted a week. I made a loaf of bread on Thursday and it has been eaten up already, how does that work? DH is making damson wine, its not ready yet, but it already tastes rather nice.:)

I enjoyed the new start to Strictly last night and am looking forward to tonight's show as well:) I have applied for tickets to be in the audience, but so far have not been lucky, although they have had 4.8m requests for tickets, so I guess you will have to be very, very lucky to get some!!!

hugging.gif Hugs to all and have a good evening.

• Happy Anniversary BB, have a lovely meal. I really hope the lump turns out to be nothing to worry about.

Gentle strokes for William but he already sounds to be on the mend.

Getting myself organised for Strictly, tea on the go and should be ready before it starts! Then we shall have an evening of Rugby to follow! xx

• Happy anniversary BB hope you get your appointment soon and they put your mind at rest
weather has been kind today and I have been pottering around.Just going to make a jacket and salad for dinner tonight as I'm trying to use up the stuff in the fridge. Eldest DD is up in Liverpool with her OH meeting up with friends from their holidays .From her texts she seems to be having a great time and her friend is showing her the city. They are going for a curry tonight at the Albert Dock and she says seeing the city has been such a treat as she'd never been before.

I know when I spent a weekend there a couple of years ago it wasn't enough and I loved the place and the people are really lovely.I'm glad the weather has been kind for her trip.
right off to sort my dinner out and I may even open a bottle of red while I watch some t.v.
Cheers chums
