I don't get 23 but I've never been good at sequences.

I see differences between the numbers of 1, 3, and 5. So I add 7 to the final number to make 18.
Thank you to everyone who posts on the competitions boards. You all rock!

    Numbers are 1, 2, 5, 11, ?
So, difference between first and second number is 1
Second and third number 3, which is the number after 2
Third and fourth number 6, which is the number after 5
Fourth and fifth number therefore should be 12 as 12 follows 11
    Hence 23

    I doubled then added 1 to get 23 ;)

  • I'm with granny.
  • I got 57! 2 x 5 +1 = 11. So 5 x 11 + 2 = 57.

I don't know why, it just seemed to make sense to me!
I just enter and forget...hoping to win something! :)
  • Its a well known sequence. Ignore starter number then just double and add 1 each time. Answer is 23. Its a sequence shown on a lot of maths sites.

Not sure you can ignore a number in a sequence!
