New small hot water tank or combi boiler??

Hi, i wouldnt worry about spending hundreds of pounds on a quooker etc, I would look at getting a small instantaneous hot water heater. I had a Dafi (look on ebay) in line hot water heater installed in my downstairs wc as it had a really long run from the boiler (sounds like your issue). About £50 to buy, you may need an electrician to fit, but if you get the appropriate sized unit you'll only be heating up the water you use and your pipe runs will be a lot shorter and your water will be hot, instantly!
Thanks, just read about Dafi and that and sound like a possible option. We could have a high kw as we have three phase electricity. Would hot water come out fast enough for kitchen sink and for bath and shower in guest room?0 -
I definitely think an instantaneous water heat might be a useful idea for a single sink or a couple of sinks, but you might have to have quite a big ish one if you wanted to cover a bath/shower as well. Generally if you have a 30kW combi boiler, the 30kW is there for heating hot water quickly for showers/baths etc and say 10kw would be the heating maximum etc.
Could you just install for sinks and just stick with the boiler for the bath and shower as people will be staying in there for longer than when you wash your hands?0 -

Yes, I could probably do with just the sink in the kitchen, as the guest room is only used very occasionally (we don't have many friends ) Thanks for advice.0 -

You can get similar no touch versions which are more expensive but might be preferred.0 -

The cheapest and easiest solution is to carry on with what you have.
Why worry about whether you waste your money on a Qooker or a heater under the sink? Just buy neither.0
