Indeed Richard, DirectBikes don't have a very good reputation.

Pulse and Lexmoto are decent enough. I am sure here are other reputable brands from China and also South Korea.

That's what I have got, get over 100mpg, cost me 5.4p per mile so far according to Fulley.

The PCX is a very reliable Scooter.

My only issue would be one of price.

They do hold their value well and I think the newer ones have Stop Start.

My 13 reg does, some people don't get on with it but it is easily switched off.

well I thought I might comment on this post

being now 61c yrs old and a "biker" (and car owner ) since obtaining my licences in the early 70s , I am having to amend my bikes due to bad hips etc , I actualy own a a Yamaha XP500 "super scoot" and a vintage Suzuki Ts185 , however I have recently bought a 2001 reg HONDA CG125 , , bike was sat in a garden , brake seized up , no keys , rusty chain , etc etc , it looks like this one (now) http://www.bike-exchange.com/check_updates.php?ref=00028438&adtype=n

I paid £75 and dragged it away , gunk and a powerwash , a new ignitions switch (£12) and a battery (£15) , and replacement V5 has produced a bike that will outlast any rubbish made in china ,

and less than 10 yrs ago I was using a enfield bullet 535 for trials use and had a B33 for the road , old age and common sense rules sometimes

the bike (Honda) is probably worth about £500 , but in 5 yr time , it will still fetch that , unlike a lump of plastmetal from china

I can understand your opinion of some Chinese bikes. I was of a similar opinion.

However to judge all Chinese bikes on the early bikes or low end bikes such as those found on eBay or DirectBikes is not very MSE

PCX 125 seems like a good choice to me, the reviews are brilliant, i would also like to go abroad with it if possible.

I am looking at PCX right now but they are over 900 quid, looks like i will be saving up if i want one of them.

I was going to go for a moped but the reviews have swayed me to scooters, i have a provisional licence but no CBT certificate yet.

Would anyone know of a reputable dealer for a scooter?
    Owed out = lots.

    Not in Scotland no.

But any Honda dealer should be up to scratch.

My 12 plate does and I hate it, first time it activated it scared the bejesus out of me, so now I make sure it's turned off.
