Santander and Tesco?

I reached the same conclusion a couple of years ago when I read the T&Cs because, as Archi says above, they don't say you do need them (like Santander, Club Lloyds, Halifax, et al do). However, the present T&Cs may differ from those I read a couple of years ago...and to be blunt I wasn't prepared to go read something you could go read yourself.I have indeed looked at both websites and neither makes any reference to direct debits needing to be set up.
Double checking is when you post something and ask if your understanding is correct. You asked (or appeared to ask) a lazy question...twice!...and as you now know I don't do spoonfeeding very well. However, I'll go out of my way to help others if they share the work. However, this being a site full of friendly and helpful people, I thought I'd double check by asking the question on here.
Yes I have 3 of them and can confirm you do not need DDs at the moment. Additionally, should you decide to open more than one you can also internally fund them, meaning they're 'maintenance free' (other than occasionally skimming interest off). Now that's helpful isn't it.Has anyone on here set up one of these accounts who can confirm?
