Got a CCJ for parking tickets???

I think I read on here that you should not be allowed a ccj for parking tickets?? I am currently trying to get this CCJ set a side, due to my personal circumstances at the time it was issued but if I can include any extra arguments against the CCJ, I think it will come in as extra incentive to remove the CCJ.

Thanks.

Who issued the ticket and in what situation?

If it was a private operator, get yourself into the Parking Tickets Subform in Motoring, here and start by carefully reading the Newbies Sticky.

However, if it was as a result of a legit/legal council ticket, you would be better to go over to the Pepipoo Forum, who are the experts there.

A PCN from the council would not be recorded on your credit file as a CCJ (they do get a court order to enforce a PCN through the Traffic Enforcement Centre but it won't be on your credit file). Private parking penalties can get CCJ's and if you want to set aside this sort of thing you should get some legal advice first (to check you have grounds to do this - otherwise the CCJ may increase through the other side's legal costs).

  • Hi,
I'm not sure if I'm in the right place but if not perhaps someone could kindly direct me...

I have a CCJ on my credit file that is over five years Los and shows unsatisfied. This was paid at the time but I cannot find any proof. I have been through old bank statements etc but to no avail. I have tried to contact the company/creditor directly but they have been dissolved.

I have a form to send to the county court to request that CCJ is satisfied but will not be able to provide any proof nor will I be able to obtain any now that I am unable to contact the company. Where do I stand with this? Can anyone help?

    Thank you
  • It's about time the CRAs started categorising CCJs. Those from private parking companies should be flagged as being obtained by a criminal organisation. As such, potential lenders could make a more realistic judgement.

Mary, you need to start a thread of your own. Hijacking someone elses just leads to confustion because people don't know who they are answereing or getting answers from.

If challenged properly a parking 'ticket' issued by a private parking company should not even be payable - let alone end up in court. It is no more than a speculative invoice. Nobody needs to end up with a CCJ as a result of a PPC ticket.
