Steam Mop?

mm, I dont find this with mine and its dry in minutes, by time im half way up the room the first bit is dry.. is your bottom pad the correct one/a bit thin/holey?It's totally better than a mop & bucket, but I find they leave more water on the floor, and usually dirty water too, so have to then mop up with a towel in places.
I'm talking about a double kitchen floor with a very heavy tile.
the only time I end up with a puddle is if i overfill the tank.0 -
Silly question, but do you need detergent with it, or is it literally just steam?0

The Vax one I have has a separate tank for detergent, but you don't have to use it. We only tend to use it if our daughter has spilt something pretty sticky as steam alone seems to remove 99% of the dirt.0 -
I'm not too impressed with my Bissell steam mop. I find I have to use a mop, bucket and breach every other time I do the kitchen floor.
The only advantage is that the floor is almost dry as soon as I've finished.Member #14 of SKI-ers club
Words, words, they're all we have to go by!.

I have a steam mop for my tiled kitchen floor and love it but the instructions say NOT to use it on laminate.Nothing is so fatiguing as the eternal hanging on of an uncompleted task. William James0

Which do you have elliedee?
It's a Beldray 1500W. Just read the instructions and it says 'for cleaning of both hard floors and carpets' and further on 'not intended for use on unsealed floors . Using the mop on waxed floors and some unwaxed floors may result in diminished shine'. So actually doesn't specifically mention laminated floors but I thought it did !

Are any of these any good for use on slate floors that are uneven?0

I have a Polti steam cleaner which has a mop attachment.
Mine is too fiddly which means it does not get used often. When I do use it it is fab, but I really need somthing light and simple to use.0 -
My VAX steam mop is very efficient, however I would prefer something cordless ever since I got the cordless vacuum cleaner!!(AKA HRH_MUngo)

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton0
