BritFilms have joined forces with ITV DVD to celebrate the movie careers of two British acting legends.
Diana Dors, or Diana Fluck as she was born, was as famous for her dramatic private life as for her screen performances. Britain’s equivalent to Marilyn Monroe, the Diana Dors Collection includes six films plus ‘The Blonde Bombshell’ – the critically acclaimed drama of her life starring fellow British blonde Amanda Redmond.
The Laurence Olivier Collection brings together a selection of Olivier’s classic Shakespearean titles, and other celebrated films in what is Olivier’s centenary year. ‘Richard III’, ‘Henry V’ and ‘Hamlet’ are coupled with ‘21 Days’ – the 1940 drama which also starred Olivier’s wife Vivien Leigh, ‘That Hamilton Woman’ – the Alexander Korda directed historical drama which again paired Olivier with Leigh.
Both boxsets are released on 20 August 2007, and they retail at £59.99 for the Dors one and £99.99 for the Olivier one. But fear not, we’re giving away a boxset of each to two lucky winners.
