Halifax offer to review anyone else had this letter?

Options
Got a letter yesterday from Halifax stating an old PPI claim I made a few years ago could be reviewed by them if I wanted them to.

It says they are writing to people whose claim was rejected to offer a review, but mine was settled some time ago. They made an offer with pretty much just the premiums and a small amount of card interest. Wasn't alot but at the time we needed the money and it seemed more work to start an FOS claim with all the other major life issues going on with us at the time.

I am wondering if we are one of the claims mentioned in the MSE article last year that the FCA have said they should review. Just wanted to check that they can't review it down and ask us for money back before I contact them. If its just a case of them looking to see if they have paid the right amount in line with FOS guidence and it will stay the same or be a little extra thats fine. Otherwise will let sleeping dogs lie, was only a couple of hundred paid back to us and it was one of those "we don't admit anything but will make a final offer to settle" payments from them.

The letter simply says the decision may stay the same or you may be due some compensation, but seems more aimed at people who had the claims turned down completely.

Anyone else had the same letter?

    yes, lots.

    That will be the case.

Based on other posts, some people have said they got a response saying no more money and others said they would get some. Some people had rejections previously and they remained rejections but some got converted to upholds.

Thanks, will contact them and see what they say. Won't bank on anything but a little extra will be an unexpected windfall anyway.
