Only way I can think of doing it for "free" is to talk to a local, reputable building company and get them to pop along, look at it and give you a quote.We won't want to make an offer on this property if it turns out we have to do a lot of work to turn the loft room into a marketable room ... Does anyone know a way of us finding out this type of information before we make an offer?

thanks, I was wondering if they had to lodge any paperwork with the council that we could see on-line such as they say that the floor has been strengthened to comply with building regs.0
