Private parking ticket - required signage?

Hi all
Got a ticket today - knew I was parked in a place that you shouldn't but was in a rush.
Main question I have is, are there specific signs which private companies have to display in order to ticket? The location in question was on the front driveway of a house owned by a hospital. House is on the hospital boundary and the driveway leads onto the main road. Knew the house wasn't in use but there are signs on the garage doors roughy saying 'Don't park here or you may get a ticket' but these are just bits of laminated A4. Nothing formal, no badges etc.
Just wondered if there is any law around what they have to display.
Many thanks
mj

Which parking company has issued the ticket (on the windscreen or through the post)? Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Hi, sorry for lack of info.
Company was Car Parking Partnership. Was on hospital grounds, more specifically on driveway of a house owned by the hospital but ticket given by company that does the parking for the whole site.
Ticket was on windscreen.

https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4816822
this will explain most .... including the acronyms above
bpa = British parking association .... or scammers trade body
POPLA = the appeals service that you will appeal to ... in time ... and win
please read then come back to ask more if needed ...
good luck

That is great news - thanks Ralph.
With regard to the signage argument, are there strict rules they have to abide by? Is a laminated piece of A4 acceptable?Just started comping - 1/12/08 - keep your fingers crossed!0 -

It's up to the PPC to prove the signs do comply rather than for you to say that they don't. So, in your appeal (using the appeal template in the NEWBIES thread) you will have stated that the signage is inadequate [paragraph e)]
If this goes to PoPLA then you will expand on this and say the signage is not compliant with the BPA code of practice. Take photographs NOW so you have them ready when you need them.I married my cousin. Apologies for my silence - been away from computer access!
Formal appeal launched through the online portal on basis of inadequate signage. Signs are there but in my opinion inadequate and certainly do not comply with BPA guidelines
Can't work out how to add picture to post from my photos but the sign says "Private Parking Residents Only. Any unauthorised vehicles found parking on these premises will receive a parking fine" Then just a bit of guff about damage to vehicles etc
I accept that the sign is there, but looks like there are strict guidelines to which they have to adhere for signage e.g. size at least 450mmx450mm (not a piece of A4), plus they have to have T&Cs and BPA logo etc.

Well that's one non-compliant sign. In the context of your case the use of the word 'fine' helps your cause no end.
You might want to take a further photo from a distance to show the door against the parking area, because at the moment it really could be any old door with a sign stuck on.
Are you sure there are no Care Parking signs at all? Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
