I've read conflicting reports on this. Are you allowed disposable razor blades in hand luggage at Stansted?

The following may not be carried in hand baggage.
Sharp items
This includes knives (with blades over 6cm), razor blades, box cutters, scissors (with blades over 6cm from fulcrim), axes, hatchets, cleavers, ice axes, ice picks, swords, sabres and sharp or pointed martial arts equipment.0 -
"Razor blades" refers to the old style double edged blades, uncommon these days - not the modern disposable or cartridge razors, which can hardly be used offensively.Evolution, not revolution0

One of my colleagues whos an ex prison guard very much disagrees with the idea that disposable razors can "hardly be used offensively"Live each day like its your last because one day you'll be right0 -
I feel they should make it clear, beyond reasonable doubt. A picture says a thousand words as well.0

I'm sure he has good reason to disagree! Nevertheless disposable razors are, I believe, permitted and in general use in prisons apart from high security categories. It's a bit laborious to remove their tiny blades and the 6cm bladed knife permitted in airline hand luggage is probably a preferable and more practical weapon. One of my colleagues whos an ex prison guard very much disagrees with the idea that disposable razors can "hardly be used offensively"Evolution, not revolution0 -

you are, of course quite correct, also why bother manufacturing a tiny knife out of a disposable razor when you are allowed to walk onboard a plane with a knife as long as its no longer than 6cms or use your duty free glass bottle as a weapon or my personal fave, and something we use to teach nurses in self defence lessons , a pen can do an amazing amount of damage to someoneLive each day like its your last because one day you'll be right0 -
Or if I were The Taliban or Isis, i would just book Business Class. That way I would be handed a real metal knife and fork with which to inflict mayhem and a blood bath0
