Search problem with quotes

I starting searching the forum this morning for "ge money" and came across a problem.

When I put the words in quotes I was expecting the search to look for the exact phrase but instead it searched for the individual words.

This only seemed to be a problem when I searched in the forum. When I tried searching the main site it seemed to search for the exact phrase.

I'm not sure if this is a problem or if it is already known about (I can't search to find out)?

I have found the bit in the FAQ that says I can search the main site but not the forum with quotes.

Is there actually a way of doing what I would like to do? I have tried the advanced search and cannot see how to search for an exact phrase.
