Accepting a returned laptop I have sold and issuing a refund

I have sold a laptop on eBay and the buyer has complained saying that I have misled him in my description and has requested a full refund from me, so I will have to do so as he won't budge.

Do I wait to receive it back and then refund him in full or do I send him the refund, and wait to receive it back.

He paid £490 for it, so I am a little worried that I could be being ripped off. I am sure that I am not, but I just want to be careful.

DO NOT refund until buyer has returns it. Make sure you check he has returned the corret laptop before refunding.
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

Can you think of any company that, upon receiving a complaint, issues an immediate refund and then tells you to 'pop it back to the shop when you can'?

  • Get the buyer to open a proper return case with eBay. Do not refund until item has been received back.

Amazon have the luxury of charging your card if they don't get the goods, they aren't simply trusting you to pop it back to the shop.

  • As BlueEyedGirl says, insist that the buyer starts the return process through eBay. If you don't, there's a possibility that they will start the process AFTER you've refunded them and try to get another refund from you.

    They can't have two refunds.
