Help from anyone who has used this site before.
I've ordered a 7 seater to pickup from Alicante Airport when I go out March next year for 2 weeks.
My issue is I booked before the flights, so just put 9AM for both pickup and return. In reality the flights are landing at 10:55 (ALC) and departing at 16:25 (ALC) but will this be an issue with what I booked?
I tried to call them using the number on the voucher, telephone number doesn't work.

Can you not use the booking modification form on their website? I would certainly want to make sure they have the correct departure time as it's likely to be an extra day's hire, and if you just turn up they may want the vehicle back at the booked time so that they can rent it to someone else.
Does the voucher tell you which rental company you'll be using? if it does perhaps you could locate their phone number and contact them direct (as an aside, many Tripadvisor reviews warn against doyouspain for a variety of reasons).0 -
So I found out after, which im worried about.
I think I will take your advice and contact them directly.0 -
Hi
Ive used this site and was really impressed with them. Have you put your flight details in to the booking? I wouldnt worry too much about the times as if they have your flight details they will be able to check when you are coming in.£2 Savers Club #156!
Looking for holiday ideas for 2016. Currently, Isle of Skye in March, Riga in May, Crete in June and Lake District in October. August cruise cancelled, but Baby due September 2016! :j0 -
don't use doyouspain!!!! they state that you have full insurance but when you try to claim
They change their story and disappear im still chasing 400 euros of withheld deposit
book direct and avoid being ripped off and take out excess waiver insurance with a uk based broker before you travel its a tenth of the cost and at least you will be properly covered0 -
cancel and book with someone else to avoid being ripped off0

We have used Doyouspain many times and never had any problem with them. The last time was just last week for a car from Alicante airport. As others say, they will be aware of your flight times if you put flight numbers in.
Bear in mind that DYS don't own any cars, they are consolidators and use many companies. If you are unhappy with a company, you can change to another. We were with Firefly last week but have used others in the past.
Tips: Make sure you book a Full-Full deal so you don't get stung for fuel. Also, get your own additional insurance before you go (we use Insurance4CarHire) so you don't need their top-up insurance. (MSE tip.):dance:We're gonna be alright, dancin' on a Saturday night:dance:0 -
Agree with Stuart Workman - exact same thing happened to us. I paid online for insurance plus extra for insurance excess protection or something; when we arrived ti collect car they told us our insurance "wasnt valid" / they "didnt recognise it" and we had no choice but to pay a further 100 euros for insurance as they also would not refund us what we had already paid.
This was after queuing for over 90mins; we couldnt understand why people were taking so long, we thought "you hand over your booking docs, they give you the keys, what is taking these people so long".....we later realised they were probably being screwed the same way we were.
Didn't manage to get my 100euros back as they just dont give a !!!!!! xbig bad debts: Gone!

Going back to your original Q 'will timing make a difference?' and assuming you are talking about a car rental rather than a taxi pick up, the difference is that they will probably sting you for an extra day's rental as you'll presumably be returning the vehicle 6-8 hours after the time you booked?
Which wouldn't be a big deal if pre-booked- I just did a dummy reservation with my all-time favourite broker (carhire300.com, now taken over by rentalcars.com) and the price for a 9-seater even for 15 days is a stonkingly cheap £66 up in March at Alicante.
The bigger deal is wheter you can trust the rental company? The reason I like carhire3000 is that they have a UK-based call centre where you can speak to real people (if you understand a Manchester accent that is)and cos in 40 -50 rentals in Spain and Italy, I have never been ripped off on any of the usual scams; full-empty fuel fees, unexpected damage claims, or undue pressure to buy overpriced insurance.
I always take out a cheap excess/tyres/undercarriage damage protection policy prior for £40 a year or less with insurance4carhire.com - and avoid the rental firms whose staff get the sack unless they hassle you into buying 'their' insurance- which is what adds ages to the check out while they wear down the ten people in the queue ahead of you. I usually end up walking to an empty Budget/Avis desk while others stand in line for 2 hours- that's the position at Malaga airport anyway.
So whoever you decide to use- my choice or yours - google the local provider (their name will be on your voucher) or better still, search on Tripadvisor by the rental firm's name for others' good and bad experiences of customer service- Goldcar seem among the worst offenders in Southern Spain.
Have a great trip0
