Hi, the drive on my Humax 9150 appears to have "packed up". It can't receive TV signals through the AV option, LG TV works fine through the aerial. This is in my bedroom. The power and standby lights are on.
This is a similar much older 9150 that I have connected to another LG TV in the lounge, so I connected the faulty one to the TV in the lounge and I get the same "no signal" message.
About a year ago, I had to replace the drive in the original Humax and the one I used then was this one http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00HZHANBW?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_search_detailpage unfortunately no longer available.
Looking for an alternative I found this, would it be OK to use instead of the Western Digital, bearing in mind that the budget is rather tight at the moment, and the cost is appealing! http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0146UUU8G?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=ox_sc_act_title_2&smid=A2GZT5WO4CNKKS
Thanks in advance for any help.

Would a failing hard drive stop it from picking up a signal from the aerial? Surely it would just give problems if you try to record or play back something?0

I've no idea really. The power & standby lights are on. I don't know what else could be wrong. I've tried everything I can think of by way of different leads, connecting to different TV, using alternative remotes that work OK with the other box/TV. It can't be the aerial in the bedroom as the TV works fine there.0 -
WHOOPS!!! Panic over. It's come back to life. I phoned Humax CS (they really are great).
Apparently, for some reason the box had become locked up and simply opening the little door on the front and pressing a button inside did the trick!
And I thought I'd tried everything - duh!
Thanks Droopsnoot - your post encouraged me to check with Humax that I'd really tried everything.0
