Santander PPI Claim rejected: How do I PROVE I wasn't employed at point of sale?

Hi folks! Hoping someone on here can help me out.
I submitted a PPI mis-selling claim for my Dorothy Perkins account card. I was given a piece of paper in store with two crosses showing where to sign, and told that the card included cover if for any reason I couldn't pay. All the sections requiring my details regarding employment status etc were left blank and I was a full-time student at the time with no work. My claim has been rejected by Santander because I wasn't "advised" to take the PPI and I didn't cancel the PPI later.
The rejection letter advises that if I can prove that I wasn't working 16 hours a week, perhaps with a letter from my employer, I may have a complaint. But as I wasn't employed, I don't have this.
Can anyone advise me on how I can prove that I was unemployed back in 2000?

I'll reply to my own thread in case it helps anyone in future. After a lot of googling i found this link:
https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/national-insurance-employment-history-request
"Use this form if you need confirmation of your employment history to make a claim for compensation."
I assume it applies to PPI too!:j :j :j DEBT-FREE JULY 2015! :j :j :j0 -
You're lucky they didn't reject it as pre regulation.
If you can't prove you were uneployed your next stop would be to complain to GE Capital, since they sold the card. Again, they weren't regulated either.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0
