Unpaid PCN/ZZPN Letter

Apologies in advance, as I'm sure this question has probably been answered before; I have had a good read through the Newbies thread but just wanted to seek some further clarification on a letter I have received.
I received a PCN from Elite Management, adhered to the window of my vehicle, on the 13th July telling me that I had parked in an unauthorized space. My place of work shares it's (free) car park with an industrial estate, and for the past few years there was never any distinction between whose spaces were whose (we are a large NHS office), so parking was generally shared out. In July, the owners of the car park began to fine people who did not park in the correct area, which, without thinking, I did. They had, in fairness, put signs up - but seeing as we have always shared the spaces, I did not think much of it.
I made the choice (probably wrongly) to ignore the first ticket (for £100) and not contact Elite Management. On the 19th August I received a Notice to Keeper letter, stating that the fine had gone up £172, and again decided to ignore this and make no contact with Elite.
I have received another letter today from 'ZZPS' asking me to pay the outstanding balance of £172. Same details as the previous letter, saying that "we will continue to pursue the matter in the absence of any contact from you".
Is it worth appealing at this stage? I have missed the window to do so, and am unsure of where to go from here, any advice would be greatly appreciated.

You could try appealing but it will be rejected as out of time. Personally I'd continue to ignore Elite and definitely ignore their toothless 'debt collectors' because of course there is no debt to collect !"The darkest places in hell are reserved for those who maintain their neutrality in times of moral crisis." - Dante Alighieri0

Welcome to mse, mart.
Have just advised another newbie to learn their way around this excellent forum by using the search box.
Just put ZZPS in there[as the newbies stickies spell out loudly:-)]and don't worry unless you receive real Court papers or a genuine LBCC.
We also strongly advise NHS workers to protest and insist on a whitelist or similar.
Use the Search box again.
