Burglar Alarm Costs

I bought my flat in London 2004 and it came with a monitored burglar alarm service which I took over. Control panel, sensors in each room, etc. It cost me about £300 per year back then which included an annual service and monitoring. This was provided by the same company that installed the alarm in the first place.
Long story but I let this service/monitoring lapse a few years ago. I'm thinking of taking it out again although no doubt inflation will have pushed the costs up.
I don't know much about burglar alarms. Do I have to use the original security company for servicing and monitoring or will other providers be able to quote for this? I'm keen to make sure I don't pay over the odds.
Thanks,
Alan .

You don’t have too no but depends on the system and if you / they have all the engineer, maintenance, etc codes or know how to reset to factory default most will only maintain there own systems….I bought my flat in London 2004 and it came with a monitored burglar alarm service which I took over. Monitoring can be done yourself if you can add Auto Dialler voice text(if you post make model someone on here should be able to tell you compatible one ( contacts you, friends, family, neighbors etc text or recorded message or both some you can talk/listens through if you can count to eight, are not colour blind, can wire a plug you can normally change everything in or associated with an alarm sensors, bellbox, battery etc yourself
What they set charge and real charge depends on them finding " faulty "items twice a year servicing and resetting cost :rotfl:0 -
Thank you. Useful information, much appreciated.
