When this Christmas tree effect occurs on the newer (than 90's) BMW's, traction, emission, gearbox etc all at the same time, it is almost always the battery at fault. Everything is monitored to the Nth degree, any drop in battery output (or when charging which is also monitored), then the car starts shedding supplies and throws errors at you.Even BMWs had major issues with electrics during the '90s.
As has been stated, Limp Mode isn't an error, its a self protection mode to prevent further damage.
This is feasible on a new car which may have sat idle for a fairly long period.
Having said that, my last French car (a Renault) had so many electrical gremlins I threw it through an auction and swore never to buy French again.0 -
can anyone help with my peugeot 207 56 plate please!!! when first started in the morning the car wants to stall when pulling away from junctions? heard a few people have had this problem but not seen any concrete solutions. had a mechanic look at recenlty and they came up with nothing after a diagnostic check? just told me to come back if it gets worse.......it starts no problem just dies when trying to pull away unless you keep the revs really high and almost wheel spin off the drive?? please help!!!0
