you're paying 50% per kwh more than me.
It doesn't make sense for anyone to use prepayment by choice.
50% is a lot what tariff/supplier are you using?
On a £30 spend per month 50% saving per kw won't make my bill £15 as some of that will be fixed charges. I do keep a check on it but maybe its time to have another look.
EDIT: just looking at the standard charge figure and I quoted (16.20) the wrong kw unit price, the price I quoted is worked out including standard charge. I actually pay 13.13 per kw I did think 50% was a big difference!!0 -
just put your details into uswitch or similar, as an example
isupplyenergy iFix 201610 Direct is
10.5p per kwh
and
16p per day std charge
tariff comparison rate is 12.38p
gb energy Premium Energy Saver is
10.028p per kWh
std charge 21.53p per day
tcr 12.56p per kWh0 -

That is the difficulty in comparisons with a standing charge; the more you use the cheaper the cost per kWh.
That is why I gave comparisons for average UK consumption in my post above. Without repeating the figures the lowest differential between cheapest pre-pay tariff and cheapest monthly DD tariff is 33% and it could be as high as 46%0 -
Is it control or discipline? To be fair however, I do appreciate that it's sometimes far easier to be financially disciplined if you have plenty of cash to spare than if struggling generally with all of those things0
