Exs default

Hi all!
I have a default on my file from 2013, where after a break up my ex took over a phone account we both used but was in my name and didn't pay it. Left it in my name stupidly... found out later on he hadn't paid it for six months and it defaulted. Paid the balance the month after it defaulted despite him still being the user of the account. Is there any way he can call the company and claim responsibility and get the default in his name not mine??

Hi Jennifer
I’m afraid the default couldn't be moved onto your ex's credit file as the account is in your name.
You could add a ‘notice of correction’ with the credit reference agencies. It’s a statement you can add to your credit file to explain something on there which could look misleading to creditors.
It should be looked at if you apply for credit and the information can be taken into consideration, which might help.
