Reinstalling Windows 10

I am trying to Reinstall Windows 10 it evenually said it had downloaded then said it was preparing to install for a very long time so I closed down the it said do not power off installing update 1 it has been doing this for ages and I think is just hanging.
How can I get out of this screen?
Can I crash the PC?
Why is this doing this?
How can I correct it?

Why are you reinstalling when you've only just reverted back to Windows 7?0

I think when I installed in one of our work laptops it look a lot longer than an hour to finish, might be in needs more time.0
