I've decided to bank with Barclays because:
I can have weekly statements, have a personalised debit card and generally I've found their branches to be really helpful.
One question though: can the debit card be used at pay at the pump petrol stations as I usually pay for petrol this way...

It sure can, it is a debit card just the same as any other debit card
