Finally somebody speaks some sense.
A series of 'you dont spend much time in your cabin anyway' remarks are ridiculous. I don't spend much time in the hotel on holiday but I want to know I can go back to a nice comfortable dry room where I can relax for the evening after a hard day.0 -
The thing with cruises, mainstream cruise lines like Princess aren't luxury. They are 4 star at best - not like the real luxury lines like Regent or Silversea.
people are asking lots of questions, to try and ascertain what the level of disruption was.
I've thought of another question
If it wasn't dealt with satisfactorily, what did you want them to do that they didn't deliver?Early retired - 18th December 2014

That's a good question too!
Also, what sort of work could they have done to make it better? It may transpire that had they rectified the issue for OP whilst on holiday then it would have been more of an inconvenience!
Also, did you ask for a different room? Or were they fully booked? In fact, if they had another room available but you declined then I would be inclined to advise you to "jog on".0 -
i could understand you wanting to complain if it were sea water and the ship was sinking, but really a bit of shower water in a "wet room" am guessing you were just looking to get something for free and you achieved that. i doubt your cruise was that traumatic. Think titanic.0

There's an old cruise ship saying
'You only need to worry about running water when it's coming UP the stairs'! :eek:Early retired - 18th December 2014

I think you'll need to be more specific on how this 'ruined your holiday'.
I've done plenty of cruises, we've had issues, they've been sorted well in the past. Heck, we stayed at a 5* resort which suffered excessive rainfall, meaning that water flooded our entire room, soaking our suitcases (thankfully empty) and resulting in my wife slipping as she got out of bed, landing on her back..
You know, you get over these things. Stuff happens. You need to differentiate true fault from accidental incidents. I think you were fairly compensated.
You can always pull your on-board gratuities as a protest too0 -

But that would be completely unfair, as the crew tip 'pot' would be reduced.
This sort of thing is no one's fault, but withholding tips means that the hard working crew suffer. Why penalise your room steward or your waiter for something they have no control over.Early retired - 18th December 2014
