    It's difficult to see how what is essentially vocational training can be condensed. I've certainly been to a couple of GPs which are the product of the current system whom I would not describe as overqualified.

    Personally, I would prefer to see a doctor that knows my ar se from my elbow.

    Indeed.
    It is interesting to note that all too often the answer by some to the chronic underfunding of our once gold standard public services is to cut corners thus undermining further the service to the public.
    Short-sighted and in this case dangerous thinking.
