EDF Shocking
Options
I moved into a new apartment in Feb, had been at old place for two years, used British Gas and never had a single issue. I have been with EDF for just over 6 months and Oh my God!!!
My first quarterly bill from EDF comes in around the £270 mark…this is when we are in winter, my next bill which covers two months, NOT THREE, is £370. Right…so even though it’s warmer, the heating is on less, I am paying £100 more than my previous bill and it’s for a month less. Ok…fine. Now..I get told on the EDF site, change to our Blue Plan and your monthly bill is £66, you save £££££. Ok..I can handle a £66 monthly, better than these quarterly surprises. But the estimate is only £151 out…my new plan, which I was advised to take from EDF customer care, which I was told would be around the £66 a month mark, is now £217 per month. My annual gas and electricity bill under this EDF cost saver, is a whopping £2604…not the estimated £792.
!!!!!!? Has anyone else experienced this?

Just the usual mess that happens when you let a computer decide how much to bill people.
How often are you supplying meter reads?
Give CS another chance to sort it all out and if they fail, follow up with a written complaint.
If you have a smartphone, you can use the EDF app to make changes to your monthly DD. This way you can keep it on track until their computer figures out your usage pattern.0 -

You can only spend that much less and save ££££ if your actual usage is a lot less. Our yearly EDF bill for a family of 4 in a 3 bed detached is about £1,500 a year actual usage.
There won't be any "quarterly surprises" if you are billed based on actual meter readings. Have you got the one from when you moved in and one from now? Just phone them up. Whenever I had to phone them up they were really friendly and got things sorted.DEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/250 -

I'm afaid that no problems with BG in an earlier home, cannot be compared with high energy consumption and Bills from EDF in a different dwelling - Different buildings will have different energy demands, even tho' your lifestyle is the same.
It appears from your post that you were on a 'Pay-on reciept-of- Bill' tariff, which is always an expensive option from any supplier, plus there is no way they will read your meter every 90 days, and the bills you do get will be either estimated or based on a reading you have supplied ( Did you give readings for the 2 Winter bills ?)
One good thing about EDF is that when you give a reading, they will produce a bill - Give them monthly readings and they will send a monthly bill0 -
Not sure the OP is coming back, but in what frequency were readings submitted?0
