I had a tax refund come through to me last month for £120. I went to tax car online and I created a standing order but quickly cancelled it at the bank before money was taken but vehicle somehow said it was taxed on there website and a week later I received a CHEQUE for £120 even though they did take money in first place. What should I do?0

Ring DVLA and ask them to explain?
If what you're really asking is 'should I keep the £120?', then the answer is "depends on your sense of morality".
More to the point, why would you tax a car online and then cancel the payment immediately afterward?0 -

Standing Order?
That's strange as when I paid for RFL it was by Direct Debit.0 -

I rang DVLA and they told me on a number of times this was the correct amount and if i have an issue with the amount i should go to the claims team....so i asked them to put it forward to the claims teams. A week later i received an email from them saying YES this is the correct amount and you can pay the cheque in.
I taxed the car through standing order but a week later i purchased a new vehicle so quickly went to bank to cancel any standing orders or any money coming from account to use the money to tax new car. Its been well over a month and i have rang and emailed DVLA a number of times so maybe i should pay the cheque in and pretend it was a christmas present0 -
Repay it and set your daughter an example.....make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
McKneff, do you realise this post was started 3 months ago. It has probably been resolved. It was reawakened by someone else, who may or may not have a daughter, but at any rate were not involved with his problems that he had with DVLA.0
