Asda offers days

I can only find a very old question re this on the boards so thought I'd ask again as it might have changed. Does anyone know what day Asda (or any other of the big supermarkets that deliver) change their offers on?
I've been stung previously by ordering multiple items then having the price change overnight so it would be useful to know if possible.

Asda usually a Thursday although its a shame that they have no expiry dates on the offers on there website whereas Tesco always tell you when they expire.

  • Thanks all for the info. Expiry dates would be very helpful indeed!

Visiting an ASDA store today I noted that some large end of aisle tickets for special offers had DU 30/09/2015 and DU 07/10/2015 which are Wednesdays. I assume DU means Display Until. If so, at least some prices change on Thursdays.

Smaller tickets for other offers carried no such information.

Yep that my understanding as I said above the new offers usually start on a Thursday.

Trouble is with Asda, when you shop online you never know which Wednesday they expire which is a shame when Tesco and Sainsburys tell you when they are valid until.

    The same with Tesco.

Prices charged for all items are still those that apply on the date of delivery. So prices of items that are not advertised as being on special offer until a certain date could change between ordering and delivery. However, those changes are likely to be less dramatic than the price changes on Special Offer items.

Yes but at least Tesco offers say valid until xx-09-15 on most offers so you know to get the delivery before that date unlike Asda where its pot luck.

I know what you mean though, not all specials are dated.

I was trying to say that the prices of items NOT on special offer could change up or down at any time. Sorry if I was unclear.
  • You can look at the offer expiry date in two ways:

    1. If we know when the product expires we either buy straight away(if it expires soon) or leave it for later (if it doesnt expiry the same day).
    2. Without knowing when the offer finishes, majority of people would think that it is temporary and buy it straight away - unless we know that these products are always discounted :)

I suppose all stores play with it to test what works better.
