Retentions (Barcalycard & LLoyds)

I went to cancel my Barclaycard initial, however I decided not to when I was offered an upgrade to the dual cashback account and an 8% cut in my interest rate (no big deal as I always pay in full unless it's 0%!).

Lloyds on the other hand didn't offer me anything..although it was a student CC I was cancelling.

Anyone else have CC retention stories?

That is interesting - Did you use the Barclaycard Initial much ? - Reason I ask a family member has taken this out (as you can't signup for the cashback card), but if possible would try and get it converted.

Barclaycard are known for offering incentives to stay, even if you don't use the card. It's not uncommon to get a £50 credit to your account - you should have held out for more

Only two statements or so in just over a year maybe about £20 in month and 2p in another (which they wrote off and didn't take the DD!).
