Phone call from lloyds out of the blue

I've just had a strange call, they claim to be from the lloyds ppi department. She wanted me to confirm some details before she'd speak to me. I refused as I did the ppi claim in 2013 I think, which was paid and have changed banks since then as well so suspected phishing.

I asked her to write to me instead, but she said this isn't possible, and she can't tell me what is about without confirming who I am.

She gave me a phone number to call, which I googled and is the number on the lloyds ppi site. I called that and they said the call was genuine, but they couldn't tell me what she wanted to talk to me about.

She called back 5 mins later but it must have been a bad line, and she couldn't hear me and hung up.

Now I'm left pondering what that was all about, and if they might try and call again. The call came from a with held number and the person I phoned said that is what they call from.

So has anyone else been contacted by lloyds years after getting their refund, and if so what did they want?

Lloyds are reopening cases for a second review where they rejected complaints or perhaps didnt pay out the correct amount. They are asking questions again in case info was missed first time around.

  • ah ok thanks. I guess I'll have to see if they phone back and I'll have to have a dig around and see if I still have the paper work.

  • I received a cheque today from Lloyds. I claimed ppi on my account and credit cards ages ago (a couple of years at least) and was paid. No idea what this is for unless as someone said the are going over claims and finding some were not right. I didn't have any phone calls but the letter with the cheque said it was explained in a letter dated September 13 but I haven't received a letter so far. A very nice surprise even though, like you I was a bit sceptical at first. Maybe you should try ringing their ppi claims dept.
