Should rent payments be on my credit files?

If so, is it possible to get them back dated, because non of my rent payments have been put on my credit file for years.

    In the vast majority of cases, no. It only recently became possible to do so, and most landlords don't.

    Rent payments are not Credit. Its only usually credit information that will appear on your credit file. Just as it doesn't include savings account current accounts dont usually display the balance, only the overdraft
