Does floor have to be re-enforced for iron bath?

In my bathroom (1930s house) there's a shower but no bath. Bathroom is on the 1st floor. If an iron bath is installed, does the floor usually have to be re-enforced due to the weight? The floor is standard timber beams/planks.

When we refitted the house, we specified a Long bath, not cast iron but not dubious plastic/resin either. I think since we had the whole floor gutted, we got a couple of new joists to bombproof the matter.
If in doubt, get a professional & chew the extra cost. If you haven't peace of mind in the bathtub, something's wrong.
