How to access Cistern on Toilet?

Options
I have an Ideal Standard toilet with the 'half flush/full flush' button on the top of the cistern. Before I can remove the lid i need to somehow disconnect these buttons. I'm guessing I either have to screw them to loosen them or just pull them off but I don't just want to guess in case I damage something.

Anyone know the correct way of accessing the Cistern with this setup...?

Thanks
Marc

  • To prise off the buttons, you need to first push either button down, to reveal an indentation on the hidden face of the non-pressed button. You can use a screwdriver to lift off the non-pressed button. The remaining button can simply lifted off and the holding screw is revealed. Unscrew the holding screw and lift off the lid.
