Hello!
Me and my husband want to go to Tulsa Oklahoma for his work at the end of November. When we went before we flyed into Dallas then onto Tulsa. This time we thought it might be nice to have a few days in Dallas before we fly home.
I have been looking online and it's coming up at over £1000 each for flights alone, is this to be expected? I'm not really sure the best way to go about it? We need to be in Tulsa from around 24th November for around a week, then would like to fly to Dallas and spend a few days there before flying home to London.
Can anyone please help?
Many thanks!
Lea

I don't know where you are looking, but £500 and under is what I found on a cursory search.
Even without any jiggerypokery, the American Airlines flight from London to Tulsa together with the flight from DFW to London is £558. 22nd of November to the 6th of December.(23rd to the 6th between £525(Iberia) and £538(AA)) Flight from Tulsa to Dallas on the 2nd of December is £45, So a total of between £570 and £603. This is booked direct with the airlines. Nowhere near £1000.0 -
I suspect the OP may have put the journey in as all three flights on one booking rather than putting the domestic flight on a seperate booking. A friend had a similar problem when travelling to Dallas and then coming back from Las Vegas. Splitting off the domestic fare practically halved the fare.
The way I'd do this is to check both kayak.co.uk and google flights for the London to Tulsa and the Dallas to London and then put the Tulsa to Dallas into https://www.skyscanner.net (as it includes LCCs too)I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

The domestic flight might be bumping up the cost because of peak demand for thanksgiving, try and avoid peak domestic travel dates if you can.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0

For the transatlantic flights, look for open-jaw or multi-city options. That will usually be far less expensive than separate one-way tickets.
Sorry, I don't know if it's better to include the internal flight or make it a totally separate booking. So I can only suggest trying both."Such an enormous country, you realize when you cross it" - Jack Kerouac0 -

Nothing to do with that at all. I have already priced the 2nd at £45. In fact it is slightly less.
The OP had found £1000+ each. Not sure as to where she was looking.0 -

Thanks everyone
I have no clue what I'm doing! I went on sky scanner and ticked the multi city option and that's what I got!
Will try again now using your advice and see what I come up with!
Thanks again

Example:
You can play around with the dates as much as you like. The max for that trip would be £624. Of course you can get it cheaper by breaking the journey up further, but it's almost impossible for me to price this journey at over £1000.
Once you find the flight via Google Flights, you can often just click through to the booking.
An example(with different dates and times):0
