julsifer tell your OH to give the shower a quick spray round with the shower head when he's finished save you the blooming job . We all do that in our house and the shower stays pretty clean and only needs me to actually use a cleaner once a week or so.

Wish that worked here. Our water is so awful it just leaves marks all over the glass screens. I had the bath taken out and a walk in shower installed because OH has mobility problems but its a nightmare to keep clean. OH showers about 6.30am, I shower about 8. 30am by which time the water has dried on the glass and it shows. The only way I can keep it nice is to clean it every time I finish showering and before I get out, then I rinse and wipe dry with my towel after I have dried myself (means a clean towel every day) and then once a week I have to get down on my hands and knees in the shower to clean the tray. And don't get me started on the hair trap over the drain....ugh.
Mortgage and Debt free but need to increase savings pot.
  • Its that tray I'm most concerned with and avoiding that "once a week down on hands and knees" to clean it.

Well - I've sent off for the Lakeland version of a rubber "broom" and lets see how that works for standing outside the shower and squeezing cream cleaner over the tray and then having a go at it with that broom...
  • Reporting back on experience here:

I duly got a Lakeland rubber broom and have just given it its "first outing".

It does make life rather quicker/easier/safer to clean the shower floor and I was able to sweep over that "floor" pretty quickly and easily and without feeling nervous that I was trying to stand up after rubbing on cleaner with a sponge (as previously) - ie because the floor was so slippy and I was wondering whether I was going to do an injury to either myself or my shower in the process of standing up again.

I did still have to get down on my hands and knees with sponge and old toothbrush (for the crevices at base of shower sliding doors) - but it felt safe enough doing that.
