  • Another NSD today and should be again tomorrow. Nothing else to report really, other than I got lots of free sweets at work which was quite exciting. And also free.

9 days till payday and a further reduction of the big bad debt.

  • Glad you're still on track :)

Now you've decided your staying you'll feel better and can plan. Keep an eye out for second hand hoovers and tellies, it's worth downloading the "local eBay" app by moneysavingexpert which have local items which are pick up only and therefore get less bids.

I may check that out. I've actually secured myself a second hand hoover today from my boss, who has two and of course doesn't need them both. And it is all about staying on track :)

Another NSD today, last week tomorrow. 7 days left until payday now I count it.

Hey there, thanks for popping by. All is well here, I've not been putting how my budget has been going on here this week I guess because I feel that ever since my big credit card splurge everything until I fix that on payday is kind of ruined a little bit. Feels like I cheated, although I have still been spending very little. Friday I'll be updating my sig and drawing up another budget, only this time I really will be able to overpay using the extra from the weekly budget, which should keep me more motivated :)

  • Ok, so payday is TODAY! So I am officially back on the horse.

Unfortunately, as technically my payday falls on the 15th and I have everything set up to come out on that day, I haven't had my credit card statements or any of my payments come out of my account yet. I've worked out what they will all be though, and I have already made the payments to bring the accounts back to where they were before I had my wobble this month though, but I'm going to wait until monday to actually update my sig and work everything out so I can be exact on what the interest was etc...

What I have done today however is made an additional payment on the smallest payday loan, so that loan is now GONE! It was always going to be the first to fall but it feels fantastic to say that one credit account is DOWN, six to go. Six much larger ones, but it still feels good. Monday will be amazing when I can remove it from my sig altogether.

What I have also done is set my weekly budget at £30 and transferred £120 into a different account. Anything left over at the end of the week will be going straight onto payday loan number one, try to bring that down a bit. Depending on how much the interest works out on CC2 I should have some more left over from what I've put aside there to overpay this as well. I've been overly cautious when budgeting this morning, not knowing what the figures are.

The other thing I did this morning, was to transfer £150 into my savings account. This is going to be to pay my housemate with when he moves out. I'll need to give him his half of the security deposit back, which will work out at £325. Next month is Christmas, so I'll probably not be adding to this again until the new year but by then I should be able to throw half the rest in January and February and then that will be out of the way.

I felt very rich when I woke up this morning. I feel far poorer now. This time last year I would have spent my overtime pennies on something exciting like a new iPad or games or something like that. This year, I'm using it to enable myself to have more money in the future to buy even better iPads and even more games without having to pay any interest whilst I'm doing it! Just have to ride out this boring bit in the middle where these pennies go on very unexciting things... although I have to say, seeing a zero balance on a credit account is a little exciting in and of itself.

I will report back here tomorrow and sunday with my spends for the weekend and then on monday I'll do a big pile of updating.

Budget left for this first week still £30, a whopping 32 days until payday!

  • Okey dokey, day two of the new month and my spends totalled £1.50 on a delicious cheese and onion roll and an appropriately named 'yum yum'. Tomorrow should really be a NSD unless I do my food shopping, but we'll see.

So this leaves £28.50 in the budget with 31 days until payday. So far so good. This time next year, we'll be millionairres.
