Big energy switch

On 17th September I switched energy supplier to E.on via the Big Energy switch. I know that I have fourteen days to cancel this. What I would like to know is this: when I have cancelled this with E.on which I cannot do until they let me know that they have completed the switch can I then change to First Utility as that was my cheapest option? Does the 10.00 pm 17th Sept deadline apply only to the big switch with E.on and is it irrelevant if I want to switch within 14 days to First Utility and if so will the prices and conditions quoted on the same day (ie 17th September) still apply? Will I still get £30 cashback after 90 days and can I just go ahead and change to First Utility as soon as I have cancelled with E.on?

Sorry but you have lost me here. If you cancel the switch with E.oN - not MSE - they will not takeover your supply. You have 14 days from the date of application to inform E.oN - personally, I would tell E.oN sooner rather than later. Once E.oN has acknowledged the cancellation then you are free to switch again. If you want cash back you will need to e-mail MSE CEC and ask them to re-set your CEC account .This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Sorry it was not clear. I do not want to miss out on the Big Energy switch. I did this on the 17th but realised later that First Utility would have been cheaper for me. I know that I have to contact E.on to cancel my switch to them. What I need to know is this: can I then switch to First Utility via the MSE site and will the First Utility prices be the same as they were on the 17th? I don't want to cancel E.on and then find that First Ulility have put their prices up in the meantime. I think I would get £30 cash back if I did it through MSE site. However it seems (fom reading some of these posts) that First Utility may not be a good one to switch to as they seem to have problems and the E.on switch though dearer is possibly a safer bet. What do you think?0

The Big Energy thing was a collective deal specifically with EON. The First Utility prices you were shown when you switched to EON may have changed; you will have to check. They had nothing to do with the Big Energy switch.0 -
You will probably not be able to do it through CEC as your account will be locked in a switch so you will lose out on the CEC cashback.0

Just a quick heads up gingerbiscuit. As you know, you've 14 days from when you agreed to switch to cancel. You can do this anytime during this period. You'll receive emails from us confirming the move and there's a phone number on there under 'Your right to cancel.' Best to use this as it goes straight to one of the support teams looking after these switches.
Hope this helps.
