I need a Firewire to connect my JVC Camcorder to my PC and my HardDrive/DVD recorder.
Only prob is, is that the sockets are all different, how do I get round it

You have to buy and put a Firewire card into your computer's PCI slot (on your motherboard). Consult a friend or computer shop to do it for you. If you want, you can give a link to your computer (if it's still in the shops) and I will tell you if you can put on in.
Here's an example of the card: http://www.ebuyer.com/UK/product/125607
DO NOT PURCHASE ABOVE CARD, I RANDOMLY PICKED IT OUT TO SHOW YOU WHAT THE CARD LOOKS LIKE."Do not spoil what you have by desiring what you have not; but remember that what you now have was once among the things you only hoped for."

After reading again, no sorry! I assumed you meant your computer when you referred to harddrive!"Do not spoil what you have by desiring what you have not; but remember that what you now have was once among the things you only hoped for."

an explanation of the sockets you have would help. Firewire cables are pretty std., 2 type of socket, big/small.

The socket on my PC looks like the 2nd pic, and the sockets on my Camcorder and HDD look like the 1st pic0
