Hi everyone, Aldi for the moment has stopped selling their premium cat food and maybe they wont sell it again which is a shame because my cat loves it she enjoys the 85g jelly one.
I am a pensioner living alone and the price of the Aldi cat food suits my income! I have been having a look online at the different wet cat foods which is the only type I have fed her, and the prices are out of my league! Rita is my first cat so could someone offer me some advice please regarding a reasonably priced cat food ,and where to get it. Thanks

A friend recently dropped a couple of boxes of their pouches round (his cat didn't like them). Mine loves them, but unfortunately, Aldi is not convenient for me to get to.. A local discount store have (had) some boxes of the Whiskers pouches on offer (40 for £8) so I've bagged a couple. Her courage will change the world.
Treasure the moments that you have. Savour them for as long as you can for they will never come back again.0 -
viv, can you tell us what price you were paying per pouch/tray for the Aldi so people can make suggestions? Also how many pouches per day
Would you be willing to order online or does the food have to be from a local shop?
Do you eat meat and fish your self ie would you be happy to feed some raw or cooked meat to her too?0 -
Bozita and macs can be purchased very cheaply online, also a higher meat content than aldi food and grain free. I think bozita works out at 22p per 100g.
Rememer if you are giving raw meat as a treat it shouldn't be pork, fish should also be avoided, you will also need to use felini complete unless less than 10% of the diet is unbalanced raw.0 -
There are other options apart from felini, but let's get some feedback from OP so we can properly advise on options.
I feed plenty of raw pork without any issue , British pork is safe as far as I know. Some people do feed raw fish but personally I always cook it0 -
Raw pork is fine as are oily fish and salmon in moderation. XTrying to remain debt free!

We switched to shoppinga Aldi in the spring and a few months later started buying their trays of cat food. Our cat is fed a vet recommended dry food for older cats but she likes a tray of wet pate like food for dinner as well. She loved the ALdi food, however we noticed she was losing weight. The nutitional content was not right for her, so she is is back on her former diet. We eat a lot of fish and chicken and I usually trim a little off all portions we have to feed to her. It is always cooked plainly and is her favourite food of all.
We buy her dried food online and that keeps the cost down.0 -
Thank you for all the replies I was feeding the cat 3 x 85g a day I have tried her with the Lidl brand but she isn't interested in that! I have no problem regarding buying on line except for the fact of buying a quantity and having Rita turn it down would be a wasteLow Carb High Fat is the way forward I lost 80 lbs

Online you can often buy small amounts, eg six cans, on zooplus I believe you can buy 6x100g trays of animonda vom fenstein (most likely spelled that incorrectly). On zoofast you can buy individual pouches/tins to try various brands in various flavours.0
-
But on Zooplus minimum spend for free delivery is £29.00 so may not be an option.
OP, have yo tried those? You can get them in any supermarket
They come in fish or meat variety for about £5.15 (Tesco) for 12 tins of 400 gram each0 -
Zooplus or zoofast delivery doesn't exactly break the bank!0
