Seen a couple of conflicting articles by googling this question, so does anyone here know if I can use the above as a non-customer?

Metro Bank web site articles say "Unlike any other bank in the UK, Metro Bank also provides free coin counting for customers and non-customers with Metro Bank Magic Money Machines,..." The most recent is dated 15th September 2015.

so as a non-customer where do the funds go? you enter your debit card into the machine?0

One thing I read said you get a voucher that you then give to a cashier.... but I read plenty that said it was for customers only. I think I will pop into a branch - thanks Alan.0

You don't have to be a customer, I have been in branch and there are queues to use the thing, and it speaks, and you get a free lollypop or giant red M to store coins in the future, and a free pen. Oh and you can take your dog.0

Wish I had a metro bank near me? Do they take a % off the total like those coin star machines?House Deposit: £28,000 and still saving!0

No. Like other bànks who have equivalent coin counting machines, there is no rip-off charge. The main difference with the Metro Bank ones is the added stage of having to queue up at the cashiers with the receipt (I'm a customer so mine gets paid into a Metro account, but my understanding was, as already stated, that the service is aavailable to non-customers. Staff are usually lightning quick to accost you as soon as you get anywhere near to the coin machine, so easy enough to confirm for certain before you get started!)0
