I have a Motorola mini mobile phone which, naturally, I have set up to receive e-mails from my business and personal accounts. I now find that deleting a mail on the phone deletes it on all my computers. I've checked that it is not in sync with the lappy using win10, (nor the other computers) however I can't see how to stop the phone deleting mail on all computers. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.

If you are using an IMAP connection, which I would guess you are, then your phone is directly accessing the mail server, so anything you delete on the phone is deleted on the mail server. Therefore other computers accessing the server will not see the deleted messages.
If other devices are using POP3 to get the mail and storing it locally through a client like Outlook, then so long as they get the message BEFORE it is deleted by the phone, it will remain on that device.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the In My Home MoneySaving, Energy and Techie Stuff boards. Thanks very much, that answers it I think. The only account that matters is a BT one which is the main one that causes the problem, All I need to do now is work out how to delete this one from the phone only. Give me a computer anytime, much easier to work with.
Just looked and saw that the gmail account is imap also, damn. will just have to watch what I delete on the phone and save on computer the bits I need.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0 -
If you don't want them deleted, why are you deleting them on the phone? If you are trying to keep your personal and business mail separate that's easy enough to do without deleting anything.Drinking Rum before 10am makes you

Because I did not realise that deleting messages on phone deleted them on my computers. Now I do I'll be more careful. I'm used to pop emails (as it transpires) which did not get deleted.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

Use the "folders" to sort the mail away but leaving it on the server, that is what the feature is there for.0 -
