  • Morning all!

Thanks Hester for the new thread.

Hugs to all who'd like them :)

Went to a therapeutic gardening group yesterday afternoon. I was very apprehensive but it was really quite good and I met some nice people. All the same, I'm chomping at the bit to get my new allotment!

Not feeling great this morning. Headache be gone! Went back to bed to see if I could sleep it away but apparently I can't. So I've had a couple of aspirin and shall now try to ignore it.

The house is a bit of a tip so once I'm washed and dressed that's first on the agenda. Once we're ship-shape I shall settle down to some spinning. My hands have totally forgotten how to do it so it'll be a good, gentle distraction.

NSD for me today I think as I did a big grocery shop yesterday.

  • We have worked in the front garden all morning, weeds out plants and bulbs in.

It was very warm in the front lovely day, might sit in the garden for an hour this afternoon before we start putting some of the bulbs, cannot make my mind up whether to plant up a container for the front as well. We have put 100+ in the front, daffs, muscarie, grape hyacI the, and something else I cannot remember the name of.

    Off for some lunch.
  • I'm washed and dressed and the house is tidy again. DW and WM both doing their thing.

I feel lousy so going to stick the TV on and paint my nails.

  • Good afternoon everyone,

Well, its a lovely sunny day here today. :)

DS has gone to work at the pub and will finish at 8pm. DH is out on appointments today, he has an appointment in Pinner  this afternoon. The distances he travels are ridiculous especially if the customer is out or doesn't buy! It would annoy me so much if it were me.

DD went to an 18th birthday party last night and had a friend stay over so she and friend have gone out, so I am on my own.

I have 2 loads of washing on the line, have caught up on the ironing and am having a clean up. I have done our bedroom and changed the bed. Last night we went and did the shopping at Ald* and I bought one of the brushed cotton duvet sets, so have put that on the bed it looks nice. I need to find a local launderette to get my winter quilt washed, as when I enquired in the local dry cleaners they were charging £26 and would send it away for a week:eek: You can buy a new one cheaper than that!

Just going to have a clean downstairs and then will go out for a wander around the charity shops. I want a nice pair of curtains to go in our sitting room to try and keep the warmth in this winter, and see if I can find an elusive launderette, there don't seem to be any around here. When we lived in Beckenham there was a brilliant one where you could have service washes or do it yourself and I always took the quilts in there, may have to consider a trip up there maybe.

Well have a good afternoon everyone, another one looking forward to Dr Who, but will have to record it for the men as they won't be home in time.

  • Well, my nails are now an orangey kind of bronze. It's a novelty to have them long - they've grown since I gave up my beloved Lottie - so I'm making the most of them.

Headache has, thankfully, gone. Have had to put the heating on as despite layers and a blankie I'm finding it chilly.

Now, as my head is behaving I think it's time to take a look at the winter preppers checklist and see if there's anything I can do on that front :)

    Hi everyone,

I don't usually post on the weekend but I'm just taking a break and watching the tennis (hiding from the list of things I still need to do for the wedding.

I've constructed 2 giant standalone letters which I now have to decorate with crepe paper. The L was easy, the B nor so much. DD has asked for more bunting and I have to make and bottle negroni cocktails. On top f this I have to make sure the house is fit for the visitors who are coming!

I'll need a holiday after this week.
  • Afternoon all,

Wealthygirl - I see you are in Medway. There's a Launderette in Rainham if that's any help. http://www.rainhamlaunderette.com/rainham_launderette/Welcome.html

Lovely and Sunny here today. DH and me did the Aldi shop this morning and popped to pub car park where they sell spuds and eggs. Picked up a tray of 30 eggs, that should keep the guys going for a few days!

DH and DS2 went off to Essex to watch football so I've been for a mooch round the shops.

I'm going to spend the rest of the afternoon not doing very much :)

    Happy Saturday all.
  • afternoon all! Today didn't go to plan, it was supposed to be a lazy day!

DD working this weekend and her ex, who usually has the 3 DGDs every other weekend while she works, let her down. So middle DGD (the prima ballerina I've talked about!) was to take to ballet and then tap this morning. Then lunch to sort for everyone and look after until DD finished work. All peaceful now, they have gone back home! She is ok for tomorrow as she doesn't work till afternoon and her BF has stepped him bless him.

I killed the time waiting for dancing classes to finish by tripping down to TKM*kk. I wanted some new slippers before winter sets in and they haven't even got any in yet!! Next time I go in they will have got them in and sold them all! I had a browse of jumpers, trousers etc but it was a pretty dire selection so left empty-handed.

Washing to bring in now and maybe a quick weed round up whilst I am out there. Mr TA having a nap. As much as he loves us having the girls they do tire him out.

Hope you are feeling better LAURA and DUMPLING I hope you have no more accidents from Max! What a shame all those toys were to throw away. SNOOZER I feel tired for you thinking of all you have to do before the wedding.

Enjoy the rest of the day all (((((HUGS)))))) if needed and take care xx

  • Got a few things crossed off my winter prep list and discovered I need a new pair of sensible black shoes as the soles are cracked on my old pair and I don't think they can be repaired. I'll toddle down to the shoe mender before I go shopping though as the uppers are still good.

Tonight's dinner (early as I didn't eat lunch) is Mixed Bean Goulash with brown rice. Not one of my most successful makes so I'll really be quite glad when it's all eaten!

House is cosy now the heating's on - just got the radiators in living/dining room, hall and bathroom on. I love my electric blanket for bedtime and the study's already closed for winter while the kitchen gets hot enough from the boiler, WM, DW and cooking.

William-cat is mooching for his dinner which he won't get until our normal dinner time of 5pm. Poor boy - he had diabetes and is now on a very strict diet. I also need to lose weight but at least I make my own decisions and understand the whys.

Tonight's activities involve rewatching The White Queen, some spinning and an early night after a hot shower so that I'll have nice, clean, curly hair tomorrow :)
