This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” is fine.

Morning all
Fish have been fed, hubby has a cuppa in bed, I have a load of washing ready to go out & another load chugging away.
DD1 is visiting with hubby & kids & I need to feed DS's cats later.
I also need to make up a batch of baby sleep spray as DD2 has a couple of Baby Whispering booking coming up.
Apart from that it will be mainly housework this weekend, hubby will be watching the GP, Singapore this week.
Have a good day everyone.

Good morning everyone :hello:
I had a rude awakening this morning as poor Max had been very poorly in the night and had managed to poo everywhere but mostly on the grandchildrens toys unfortunately. They have been double bin bagged and put out for the rubbish now and the carpet has been washed so I just need to air the room. Poor Max looked so sorry for himself and I wasn't cross, the labrador in him makes him pick up all sort of bits and eat them no matter how vigilant we are and so he sometimes gets a bad tum.
We are having a big clean up anyway this morning. I figure that an hour or two's work by everyone in the house and we can just relax then for the rest of the weekend. We have shopping coming this morning too so that will need to be put away. The girls are still asleep for now but I will get them up in an hour or so.
Hubby is in charge of the cooking this weekend as always so I think we are going to have a good cooked breakfast. I will clear off the dining room table so we can actually all sit together and eat for a change. The table is such a dumping ground at the moment but I will crack on with cleaning it in a minute.
Hope you all have a nice weekend whatever you are up to, take care xx0 -
Morning everyone.
Thanks for the thread HH.
It looks like another glorious day here, surely it'll break soon.
Yesterday was very successful, I got a lot of things out of the way and a lot of stuff cleared out. In the evening I spent an hour ringing the 'missing' students and now only have three to chase up on Monday or Tuesday.
There's chicken thighs and a load of veg for our main meal today, and enough for two days so no shopping or buying over the weekend. I want to sit and read a bit today, I've got the final few chapters of a Peter May book to finish and it's been hanging around for ages. I made a database of books and music (part of my IT course) and it's awful how many books are unread.
Dr Who starts again tonight...:j :j
Right, today is here. Will vacuum upstairs before I go down this morning. Promise!
Hope everyone has a good Saturday.0 -
Morning ((((((((((hugs))))))))))if you need one, it's sunny here, we are going to work in the garden, plants to put in from yesterday, bulbs to sort and plant as well.
Had a lovely day yesterday, first at the plant nursery and then with my quilting friend.
Off to get my brekkie......0 -
Morning :hello:
meanmarie Are you OK?
I watched Fast & Furious 7 yesterday, each film is more ridiculous than the last, I loved it
I had great fun with my yarn, I cut a bit off each colour and labelled them, I can lay the bits out when choosing colours rather than having to keep rearranging 100g balls, it's much quicker and easier. I tidied up all the other bits, too well actually because when I sat down to start making a jumper I couldn't find my favourite hook. It was there in front of me, no-one came into the room, I didn't leave, but it's disappeared. I'm a bit cross.
Plans for today involve one load of washing, shoving the dyson around and starting my jumper, if I can find that damn hook

Morning all,
Been raining all night but today is glorious nice sunny day with a bit of a breeze, I have the wm doing its thing and I shall hang it all out today.
Noodles is still here and a complete delight, she is on dd's bed atm having a nap, she has been up for a wee and breakfast, she is such a good girl and has never once wet or messed in the house, someone must have loved her very much once, but then she does have issues which make me think she has been abused somewhere along the line
Got to have a good clean up this morning and then do a bit of shopping for the week.
I am so excited about Dr Who :j
Have good days all xx0 -
Morning All
The mist has now cleared and it looks like another lovely day. One load of washing on the line, the other will go on soon.
Been and bought some paint for the bathroom, the painter did a lovely job but it's just too dark, I'll try and fix it before Tuesday as the builder is coming then to put up the mirror, towel rail, etc.
Baked a batch of biscuits, I'm going to a MacMillan coffee afternoon at 2. Have already given 2 things to the raffle and it's £5 entry so not a bad donation once I have bought the raffle tickets too.
Hope you all have a lovely weekend, MM let us know if we can help! Take care. XX0 -
Good morning everyone. It is a glorious day here at the moment. Yesterday it rained heavily so no washing dried outside. As the weather was miserable I spent most of the day cleaning down woodwork upstairs. I have bought some of those magic sponges from eb@y and put them to good use. They were particularly good for cleaning the shower door which has never looked so clean. I am impressed with them.
Notjustlaura thank you for the kind offer about kitten behavior, I will see how things go in the next week or so.
Today I am planning to tidy out the front porch which has become a staging post for all the things I have decluttered ready to go. There are also a few straggly plants in there which will go outside and a few building materials that will have to be found a new home. I have a pew in my porch and it needs a little tlc and a good polish to make it look nice again.
Hope everyone has a good day x0 -
Good Morning everyone, with DD1 now after having a lovely time with that Zebra who can now say Oma!!! Felt quite poorly yesterday and DD2 drove me to DD1 rather than me going on the train bless her, feeling much better today and so excited as we've got tickets for the Tonga vs Georgia rugby game at Gloucester so we're off soon to join the queues for security checks, it will take a while I think, brilliant stuff!!!
Home again tomorrow and hopefully back to a somewhat more normal routine for a few weeks, I seem to have been zipping around for the whole summer from one place to another and it would be very nice to be at home doing normal things for a while.
Have yourselves a really good day all, Lyn xxx.0 -

Sunny here ATM washing to go out on the line
Dd2 is off to work soon , dd1 is going with her boyfriend to the rugby in Wales this weekend , her first rugby match
I've been working through the downstairs doing a deep clean this week , I've done the kitchen and living room and the dreaded under stairs cupboard ( formerly known as the ' messy cupboard' ) , it is no longer a messy cupboard. I need to start on the dining room, but t maybe I'll start it later
Need to pop to the SM for some bits, it's only a top up shop so shouldn't be too expensive
Have a good day everyone0
