First time wire transfer from US to UK

Hi, I'm expecting a wire transfer of $16,000 to my UK Natwest bank account and I have a few questions.

1) What will the sender need from me?
2) How quick will I be able to access the funds?
3) What should I expect the fees to be?

Thanks.

  • The sender will need your bank name and address - your bank's SWIFT address and account number.
    I don't think US banks use IBAN's.

If your bank does not suspect anything wrong with the inward payment it will be free for you to use as soon as it hits your account.

Unless you have agreed to pay all the fees the only charge to you will be £5-£12 inward foreign payment. Your own bank's fee will be in your T&C.
