Need to make a cheap call to London

In which case, you need to work out how many minutes of calls at the non-inclusive per-minute rate you can make per month before this becomes more expensive than each of the various inclusive call plans and then compare this with how many calls you actually make.

Most people find they need an anytime inclusive call plan. Anyone making more than about 10 to 20 minutes of weekday, daytime, calls per week will soon find this is the cheapest option.

I disagree - I'd suggest 18185 could still work out substantially cheaper, even if calling via the 0808 access number.

Is that 18866 site legit and everything? I'm not gonna be hit with subscription fee's or such? I only want to make the occasional national call, so can I still use it?

Most people now use https://www.18185.co.uk .The same people. But rates in general tend to be better. But they charge same to call 01/02/03 numbers wherever they are in UK.

Yes it is legit. No fees other then shown. Been recommended by MSE for yonks.

    See: http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/phones/home-phone-calls

If you cant be asked to set up account. Tesco do a calling card.

    http://www.tescointernationalcalling.com/calling-card

For a £5 top up to make calls via the freephone number it will cost you 2p+1p (3p) a minute to Uk 01/02/03 numbers with a 4p set up charge per call

Note: Credit expires 180 days from the last top-up.

The other alternative is if you have a spare mobile phone not locked to a network get a free https://www.delightmobile.co.uk sim card they charge 3p a minute.Runs over the EE network.

Minimum top up £5. You just need to make a call every 180 days to keep your credit.
