Gel/creme eye liners in pot

I'm using the doll 10 eye liner in a pot, chocolate brown colour, it's nice. I've tried the cheap maybeline version & the expensive markup at attilier, don't think much of either, they both smudge, I can smudge almost ANY eye makeup. Sometimes it is also the application - if you have tried different products and still got smudging, you might need to apply some powder first.
