Advice on reclaiming bank charges

Hi I'm new to this forum and after reading the article on here about reclaiming bank charges, I thought I might look into it as 6 years ago i was with Lloyds TSB and was paying a fortune in charges each month as well as other mounting debts and ended up in an iva for 6 years. One of the creditors listed was obviously Lloyd's as I couldn't pay back my overdraft but now the iva has ended and I have my certificate, Im wondering if its worth pursuing. Their hefty charges probably pushed me into having to apply in the first place. Do I stand a chance?

It's very unlikely. If it was over six years ago, any complaint would probably be timebarred - that is if Lloyds (or TSB) even had any data left about your account from six years ago. Even without this, a bank is not required to do anything about historic financial hardship, only current hardship.
It is also worth pointing out that an IVA often involves the writing off of some of the debt that falls under it, and any refund you might well be given could well be offset against any debt Lloyds wrote off, on the basis that you never paid the money anyway.urs sinserly,
