Dentures Not Fit For Purpose

My wife purchased dentures from her Dentists for which she paid £600. The dentures did not fit properly she returned them and the Dentist attempted to alter them. Now three months later after numerous visits and alterations they still do not fit properly and are very painful. My wife has decided that they are not fit for purpose and has asked for her money back but the Dentist has refused. What are her consumer rights, if any?
