Did you read the terms and conditions before signing up? You would have ticked the box to say you agreed to them.
At the time of the creation of a User Account, the Members must click the box “I accept the General Terms and Conditions of Sale of the site and of the service provided”.
It does ex[lain there that the subscription is automatically renewed unless you go into your account and cancel it before it runs out.0 -
Yes I did read most of what I understand but it was not straight forward site if you ask any questions they didn't seem to understand you.0

It's generally best to avoid this type of site. Dog boarders require a licence and none of the match up sites check them as part of their verification - if they don't have a licence their insurance (required as a condition of a licence) is invalid. Note the insurance holidog are touting is only accident cover not negligence etc.0

Why not go with someone local who can come meet your dog/s first, has recommendations/reviews/references & isn't part of a big company?0

I had an equally frustrating and futile attempt to secure a trustworthy dog sitter for my little dog. Same issues entirely and shocking to have to pay membership before you can engage the services of someone you feel you can trust. I did get a refund after much debate. However I have found a much better service for pet sitting, walking and boarding. Its called Tailster, they do not charge the owners for the service at all, they simply deduct a percentage from the sitters overall fee. They of course factor this in when they submit a quote to you. All you do is register you and your pet and post a wanted Ad.
Much better service, more reliable and your pets are covered by insurance when you leave them in the sitters care. I use them all the time for short breaks with work, so highly recommend it.:T0 -
I'm not sure which of the two I find more suspicious:
Someone joining an online forum purely to complain about one specific company

I've also had a terrible experience,
you do have to check first of all, as they will auto deduct money every few months, and the pages to correct it don't work (e-mail to their support did work)
however, the bottom line with these people is you are just buying a stranger. they accept no liability (or at least purport not to)
ours turned up for a pre-meet, was given written instructions, and clear verbal warnings (one nervous dog, one old one), and what I considered a bonus £40 to get her through the week, coffee, tea, etc etc.
it ended up with her not even staying over the first night, leaving a 13 year old dog well past the time he would wake up and need to get out, a dog fight (when playing with one ball and two dogs, something explicitly written down), £500 in emergency vet bills, and a holiday that lasted a day. She didn't want paying (I pointed out she hadn't turned up (and had CCTV to prove) (and didn't even mention the £40 I'd put out for her)
I'd bought the vet insurance at time of order, so they asked me to claim. and wait 30 days.
well, I've chased and chased, it's now over 40 days, and there's no reply, so I've written a letter before action. I've also paid on a credit card, so have informed my card issuer I would be looking to them under s.75 of the CCA also.
They're based in france, so I may need to follow a cross borders claim instead, but from my personal experience, I would also agree that they are useless, and perform a less than relevant middle man service.Remember the time he ate my goldfish? And you lied and said I never had goldfish. Then why did I have the bowl Bart? Why did I have the bowl?0
